Hugo Garcia
Burien City Council Candidate, Pos. 1
I knocked doors in 2017 for 'the Fantastic Four', which is where I really got to know what drives Krystal and why she was running for election: her lived experience as a homeless youth, her family's struggle with poverty, and her identity as a LGBTQIA+ individual. That's why keeping Krystal on the Burien City Council (Position 7) is a top priority for me. We need her commitment to proactive communication, soliciting community input, and building coalitions to continue to fight for affordable housing, tenant protections and taking care of working families. I have seen Krystal in action, and believe she has a heart for our community and a strength that we can rely on. That is why she has my sole endorsement for Burien City Council Position 7 in her re-election.
Sarah Moore
Burien City Council Candidate, Pos. 5
Krystal Marx is my choice for Burien City Council Position #7 and I recommend her with my sole endorsement. I have known Krystal for 4 years and actively supported her first campaign. I continue to support the work she does on Council today, serving as Deputy Mayor. Krystal is equal parts courageous advocate and active listener. She is a big picture thinker with a rare talent for keeping the individual in focus, no matter how far she goes into the planning and policy-setting side.
Krystal goes the extra mile to make herself available to constituents. I have seen her champion new issues as well as change direction based on community input. She stands up for what she knows to be right and sometimes makes unpopular decisions, but she does so with compassion and respect for those who disagree and will always take the time to explain her decisions to anyone who asks. Krystal weaves together all of the information available to make the best decisions possible. I consider Krystal to be an exemplary leader and this is why I endorse her re-election to Burien City Council, Position #7.

Burien Business Owner
I’m proud to endorse Krystal Marx for reelection to Burien City Council. Krystal’s fierce dedication to the Burien community is second to none. She goes out of her way to remain accessible to hear the concerns of our community. Krystal is open to new ideas and works diligently to bring all good ideas to Council, regardless of where they come from. She finds creative solutions and works strategically to get good policy implemented. She does the work. Krystal understands the implications of implementing as well as not implementing policy. As a small business owner and human/civil rights advocate, I trust Krystal to do what is right for Burien, even when it may not be popular. She has integrity and I know that she will look me straight in the eye and tell me why she did what she did.

I’m proud to be endorsing Krystal Marx for re-election to the Burien City Council. As community teachers across south King County, we appreciate elected officials who listen to and act upon the needs of our students and their families. From issues of housing to racial justice in schools, Krystal has consistently walked with us, asking questions and listening for how she can serve the community.

I’ve had the pleasure of getting to know Krystal over the last few years and I couldn’t be more proud to endorse her campaign. Krystal is a proven leader that works hard for everyone in our community and has the courage and empathy we so desperately need in elected office. The residents of Burien would be blessed to have Krystal in their service for another four years.
